Sacred Heart School 's beginnings can be traced back to Mrs. Ma. Rosario Tambunting-Juan's innate fondness for children, a feeling greatly intensified when she experienced motherhood. Caring for her child was a delightful experience for Mrs. Juan, one that gave her newfound strength as well as deep understanding of the many needs of a child, not only physically and mentally, but also in the development of heart and spirit.

Her fascination with children has led to a profound interest in child development. She has been guided by theories of Rousseau: "A child is like a plant that needs nutrition by way of education" and of Maria Montessori: "A child possesses an innate potential for constructing him or herself, that the child has the ability, given an appropriate development, to develop his/her own potential."

In the light of all these, Mrs. Juan decided to take on the challenge of establishing a school for children of working mothers. Her goal to create an environment where children could develop their potential and become well-rounded individuals resulted in the birth of Sacred Heart School.
